Description

Stinger is a complete power system with engineered intake, exhaust and fuel tuning upgrades for working and towing applications. Stinger delivers huge tow all day performance with lower EGTs to keep it all cool. Adds up to +40 hp and +57 lb-ft (rear wheel) plus more MPG.

The Stinger system is a combination of our Monster exhaust, our Banks Ram-Air Filter with Silencer Delete Tube, and our Bullet tuner. The exhaust features a beefy intermediate pipe and tailpipes (3.5-inch on the single exhaust sytem, 3-inch on the duals), formed of stainless heavy-wall tubing with mandrel bends to maximize airflow, minimize backpressure and lower exhaust gas temperatures. The system safely clears the spare tire, shocks and brake lines. Monster duals include exclusive round, angle-cut, polished-stainless rolled-edge tailpipe tips (with your choice of high temp black or chrome-over stainless). Tips have an adjustable clamp for positioning on tailpipe. Tip dimensions: 3-inch tube - 3.75-inch x 11-inch. This system is also available with a single 3.5-inch tube - 4.38-inch X 12-inch exhaust tip.

Boost Your Power and Read Your Boost!

Our Banks Bullet is a value-priced tunerÑbut we only skimped on the costÑnot on the performance! Loaded with features, the Banks Bullet offers multiple power levels that you can adjust on-the-fly to match your driving conditions. It's also a handy boost gauge, and it can display other critical engine functions. It comes with a single-gauge mounting panel, but you can also get a pillar-mount console, sold separately.

What more could you ask for? You get continuous, safe towing power, optimum engine efficiency and durability, adjust-on-the-fly power, lower exhaust gas temperatures and virtually no backpressure. And with the built-in fuel economy features, more driving between fill-ups, too!

Banks Bullet contents: Does it come with everything you need for a quick and painless installation? It's from Banks Power so yep, it sure does.

2014-15 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel Bullet/Stinger Competitive Test Report

Introduction

Testing was conducted per TR001149 on the GBE 2015 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel to determine the performance of the Banks Bullet Tuner (P/N 66526), Banks Stinger System (P/N 48604) including Air Intake (P/N 42260) and Dual Exhaust (P/N 48602). The vehicle was tested on the chassis dyno to measure power and torque output at the rear wheels and 0-80 MPH acceleration times in each configuration.

Testing

Power testing was run from 3000-3900 RPM because at WOT the vehicle upshifts near 3900 RPM and downshifts between 3000-3200 RPM. The 3000-3900 RPM range is a good representation of the range that the engine will operate in the vehicle while operating at wide open throttle. The testing was run in 6th gear and traction control was disabled since the front wheels were not turning. Each run was started at the same EGT and ECT to maintain consistency between tests.

The results show that the Banks Bullet tested with a best power gain of 37 hp @ 3400 RPM. The Bullet dominated this field of competitors. When the Banks air intake and dual exhaust were added to the Bullet the power output at the shift point increased by 9 Hp causing the engine to continue pulling hard all the way to the shift point.

Power Gain Summary

Peak Horsepower
Stock 215 hp @ 3500 RPM
Banks Bullet 251 hp @ 3500 RPM
Banks Stinger 253 hp @ 3600 RPM

0-80 MPH Acceleration Summary

Acceleration testing from 0-80 MPH was also conducted on the dyno. The results in Table 6 show that the Banks Bullet had the best 0-60 time of tuners tested. The addition of the air intake and dual exhaust made a significant improvement to the perform. It reduced the 0-60 MPH time by 1.1 seconds, 0.4 seconds greater than the Bullet alone (0.7 second improvement). That improvement increased significantly in the 0-80 MPH time, a reduction of 2.1 seconds.

Stock 0-80 mph - 16.6 seconds
Banks Bullet 0-80 mph - 15.2 seconds (8.4% faster)
Banks Stinger 0-80 mph - 14.5 seconds (12.7% faster)

Conclusions

The Banks Bullet and Stinger system provide significant improvement over the stock vehicle and the competitive products tested. The Bullet alone adds 37 Hp to the stock engine. The Banks Stinger airflow improvements increase power output from the power peak all the way to the shift point increasing power output by 9 Hp at the shift point. These gains make a noticible impact on the performance of the vehicle as shown in the acceleration times measured in this test. The Bullet improved the 0-80 MPH acceleration time by 1.4 seconds and the Stinger improved the time by 2.1 seconds. The Banks products clearly beat the competition and provide welcomed improvement to the performance of the Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel truck.

Comments:
Just had the Banks Stinger System installed to my 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie EcoDiesel and spent the day driving it around. I have been looking at the system for more than a year just waiting for the right time to purchase. My Ram has a 6 inch lift and 35 x 12.5. The power it made before was fine and the driveabilty was on par with stock set up. After the Stinger kit install, set the Bullet to Sport mode and did the initial test drive. The power band comes in at a lower RPM with 2,000 RPM the sweet spot you can hear the VTG full engaged on the turbocharger. The power is delivered very smooth without any shifting issues or concerns with the transmission. To simply the power increase gains, stock set up on wide open throttle is moves the truck faster.. on the Banks Stinger System with the Bullet set to "Sport" it actually puts you back in the seat (albeit a little but noticeable). The truck accelerates at least a full second faster and seams to drive in a much more user friendly RPM range. Noticed an increase on registered fuel mileage on the roads I drive, only a bit for now but I can see the up to 3 MPG claims as a reality. With a lift kit it really made the truck a much better drive. The tech that installed the kit has an 16 EcoDiesel and is going to install it to his truck. Very happy with purchase and would recommend both from easy of installation and performance gained.
