The Banks Sidewinder Turbo System transforms your '99.5-06 Jeep Wrangler into a pavement eating, rock crushing, trail running monster. Horsepower Best Gain: +66.1 HP @ 4400 RPM (48.8%). Torque Best Gain: +83.7 lb-ft @ 3200 RPM (50.5%). Horsepower Peak-to-peak: Stock = 138.6 HP, Banks = 201.4 HP, Improvement = +62.8 HP (45.3%). Torque Peak-to-peak: Stock = 176.0 lb-ft, Banks = 249.4 lb-ft, Improvement = +73.4 lb-ft (41.7%). 0-60 MPH Acceleration: Stock = 12.51 sec, Banks = 9.62 sec, Improvement = 2.89 sec (23.1%). Torque output with the turbo at 1600 RPM is greater than the peak torque in stock condition. This aggressive torque profile is ideal for rock crawling and trail running. The standard system produces 6 PSI boost. If you're looking for even more power, an optional intercooler and water-methanol injection system can be added. The Ram-Air intake is located at the same height as stock. Also included is an optional through the hood Super Scoop which allows the system to pull in cooler denser outside air, resulting in increased performance and system response. While we highly recommend the installation of the Super-Scoop (modeled after the international version of the Jeep J8), it is not required. Compatible with both the Banks TorqueTube header and Monster Exhaust. Double-slip joint for fitment to your existing exhaust tube. Ensures a better, more reliable hold when you need it. The Banks Sidewinder Turbo, with its nearly 50% increase in Horsepower and Torque, dwarfs the 12-25% increase produced by Jeep Stroker kits. Allows the engine to maintain power even in diminished ambient conditions at high altitude. Installation is much easier than installing a Stroker kit which involves complete removal of the engine. The system comes with detailed instructions and all the necessary parts to complete the installation. Runs on 91 octane or higher.
